Microblading

What is Microblading?

Microblading is a semi-permanent cosmetic tattooing technique used to enhance the appearance of eyebrows. A specialized tool is used to create tiny, hair-like strokes that mimic natural eyebrow hairs, giving a fuller and more defined look.

How long does Microblading last?

Microblading typically lasts up to 2 years, fading slowly over this time depending on skin type, lifestyle, and how well aftercare instructions are followed. Touch-ups are typically needed annually to maintain the best results.

Does Microblading hurt?

Before starting the procedure, a topical numbing cream is applied to minimize discomfort. Most clients report a slight scratching sensation with minimal discomfort. Pain levels can vary based on individual sensitivity.

What is the Microblading process like?

The process starts with a consultation to determine your ideal brow shape and color. After numbing the area, the artist uses a handheld tool to create small, precise strokes that resemble natural eyebrow hairs. The session typically lasts 2 hours.

Who is a good candidate for Microblading?

Microblading is great for anyone who wants to enhance their eyebrows, whether you have thin brows, over-plucked them, or simply want a fuller look. However, individuals with oily skin, sensitive skin or certain skin conditions may experience less optimal results. We would recommend nano brows to these clients.

How should I prepare for my Microblading appointment?

Avoid alcohol, caffeine, and blood thinners (like aspirin) 24 hours before your appointment, as these can increase bleeding. Also, refrain from tweezing, waxing, or tinting your brows at least 3 days prior to your session.

What is the aftercare process?

Aftercare is critical to ensure the best results. For the first 10-14 days, avoid getting your brows wet, sweating, or exposing them to direct sunlight. You’ll also need to avoid touching or picking at the healing skin. You will be provide you with a detailed aftercare guide.

How long does it take for Microblading to heal?

Initial healing takes about 10-14 days, during which time your brows may appear darker then lighter then go through a scabbing phase. The full healing process takes about 4-6 weeks, after which you’ll see the true color and shape of your brows.

Will I need a touch-up?

Yes, a touch-up session is typically scheduled 6-12 weeks after the initial appointment. This session ensures the color, shape, and density of your brows are perfected and can last for 12-18 months before another touch-up may be required. There are clients who do not require a perfecting touchup session as they desired look was achieved after the first session. This is usually the case when minimal work was needed to achieve their brows goals.

Are there any risks or side effects?

When performed by a trained professional, microblading is safe. Some clients may experience mild redness, swelling, or itching during the healing process. It is crucial to follow proper aftercare instructions to avoid the risk of infection or uneven healing.

Can I still wear makeup after Microblading?

You should avoid wearing makeup on or around the brows during the healing period (about 10-14 days). Once fully healed, you can wear makeup, though many clients find they no longer need eyebrow makeup after the procedure.
